A burst supply pipe in a plant room, a slow leak above a server cage, a sprinkler valve weep behind a cabinet – by the time it is visible, equipment is already damaged and the operating impact has started. Leak detection sensors deployed at the right zones close that gap, picking up the presence of free water at floor level long before the damage spreads.

Point sensors detect the presence of free water at a specific location – under a CRAC unit, on a server room raised floor, in a sprinkler valve cabinet or behind a kitchen sink. Rope-style sensors detect water anywhere along their length, useful around long fixtures such as under-floor pipework, tank rooms and large plant rooms. Sensor type and placement are agreed during the site survey based on the risk profile of each zone.
A building management leak alert typically logs to a facilities system that may not be monitored outside working hours. Manguard leak detection signals to the EN 50518:2019 Category I Alarm Receiving Centre alongside intruder, fire and other monitored alarms, so an out-of-hours alert is handled by a staffed monitoring operator immediately and follows an agreed escalation protocol, rather than waiting for the next working day.
In most cases yes. The site survey confirms the existing panel capability, available zones and signalling category. Where the panel supports it, leak detection is added as additional monitored zones into the same signalling chain. Where it does not, we specify a panel upgrade or a dedicated leak detection panel that signals to the same Alarm Receiving Centre.
Yes. Manguard owns the full chain – design, install, signalling and monitored response. The response protocol (who is called, in what order, with what information) is agreed with your facilities team during commissioning and held in the Alarm Receiving Centre event procedure for the site.
Every install ships with a documentation pack: design specification, sensor placement schedule, commissioning certificate, signalling category, PSA installer details and the maintenance schedule. The event history is available from the Alarm Receiving Centre on request, which is often useful at renewal or to support a claim.
Often yes. A site survey reviews the existing system, the signalling capability and the panel configuration, then we agree the migration path – typically by re-routing signalling to the Manguard ARC and adding the system to the monitored event chain. Where the existing equipment is end-of-life or non-compliant we will say so up front.
