Most monitored alarm contracts in Ireland route signals to a Cat II receiving centre – or to a Cat I centre operated by a partner outside the country. Manguard Plus is the first Irish provider operating a Cat I ARC under the EN 50518:2019 standard, on-shore, staffed 24/7, with no third-party handoff between your panel and the operator.
Cat I is the highest tier of the standard. It governs the physical construction of the centre, redundancy of power and signalling, alarm-handling procedures, operator training and continuous staffing levels. Whether your alarm fires at 03:00 on a bank holiday or 14:00 on a Wednesday, it lands in the same Cat I environment under the same verified SOP.

We carry out a connection check on your existing intruder, fire, panic or lone-worker system, confirm signalling path resilience, and migrate monitoring to the EN 50518:2019 Cat I ARC without requiring a full system replacement in most scenarios.
Yes. The Command and Control Centre handles intruder alarms, CCTV alarms, access control events and panic and lone-worker signals from one operator workstation. That means when an alarm triggers on your site, the operator can immediately pull camera views, verify the event, check access logs and apply the agreed response – in one place, by one provider, with no handoff between separate monitoring contracts.
Enterprise-grade monitored alarm systems are specified with dual-path signalling – typically IP as the primary path with GSM as the backup, or vice versa. If one path fails or is jammed, the panel polls over the second path and the ARC is alerted to the path failure as an event in its own right. This redundancy is part of the EN 50131 grading we specify for enterprise sites and is monitored continuously, not just at alarm time.
Garda escalation follows the verification protocol agreed in your site SOP and the An Garda Siochana monitored alarm policy. The ARC operator only escalates a confirmed event – typically multi-source verified, CCTV-confirmed or sequentially verified by a second sensor. This protects your site from being flagged for excessive false call-outs under Garda policy. Cost of monitoring and any Garda-related charges are quoted clearly per site in the service agreement.
